5 Things to remember on moving day

• Make sure your utilities have been disconnected and terminated in your home and are ready and working at your new home. While moving out of the house, check that all water and electric connections are closed.
• Ensure that all your belongings are packed in cartons or boxes, sealed well and marked according to their contents. Keep lists of what each box or carton contains. This will help you unpack easily when you reach your new home.
• Keep some time for yourself and your family to reminisce over special times shared in the house. Order in pizza one last time to your old house. Also make sure you have the numbers of the restaurants that deliver to your new neighbourhood.
• Carry important papers such as those pertaining to insurance and finances with you. Also carry along jewellery and don’t pack it into a box that you are loading onto the truck.
• Keep the keys of the house you are leaving and the ones to your new home safely.
