First and foremost set your kitchen. Everyone's got to eat right? The kitchen is a place where at least everyone can come together and relax for a while. There is no need to think of unpacking everything right away, but consider your essentials.

For example, you don't want your perishables to spoil, so you will want to unpack your kitchen first. You and your family want to be able to eat, drink and be merry, so stocking up your new fridge is an important consideration. Next you need to use the bathroom, on a daily basis, so you will probably want to do this initially too. Unpacking toiletries, towels and the like are necessary to be comfortable when you get to your new home. Unpack your toiletries, see that they are in place and check the functioning of the bathroom. Having that done, you could move on towards putting up your rooms in style without rushing. Take your time, be patient and soak in your new surroundings. Make your new home, your home!
